KORYU BUJUTSU 古流武術
This Division collects all the schools with lineage recognized as ko-ryu or "old style". These schools or styles were generally established before the Meiji Restoration and they are handed down according to the ancient dictates, without any kind of technical and didactic change, respecting the old masters and the forefathers.
The Division includes both the old-style Japan martial arts schools and the old-style Ryukyu karate and kobudo schools. > See Register
GENDAI BUDO 現代武道
This Division collects all the schools born as gendai or "modern" martial arts. These schools or styles were generally established after the Meiji Restoration and are handed down according to the dictates of their own founders, often with progressive technical developments based on contemporary needs.
The Division includes both the modern Japan martial arts schools and the modern Ryukyu karate and kobudo schools. > See Register
BUNKA 文化
The Division deals with the dissemination of traditional Japanese culture, not only related to martial arts but also to traditional philosophy and lifestyle, considered of great value for the ethical and inner development of the people. > See Register
